Chakra is a word in the ancient Sanskrit language that means “wheel” or “disc.” The body has seven primary chakras—from the base of the spine to the crown of the head—that are associated with specific organs. Chakras aren’t physical but they receive, process, and express life-force energy. The chakras are shaped like funnels. The first (root) chakra points downward toward the earth while the crown (seventh) chakra points upward toward the sky. The second (sacral), third (solar plexus), fourth (heart), fifth (throat), and sixth (third-eye) chakras are aligned centrally along the body, facing outward. There is an energetic core that extends vertically through your body, and the small end of each chakra connects to your energetic core. The chakras get wider as they extend and connect to the edge of your aura. There’s a front and back to the second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth chakras. The front and back of these chakras are mirror images on the front and back side of the body.
Last month’s blog focused on the first four chakras. This month’s blog is our final Akashic Records exploration of the human chakra system. This month’s entry offers a high-level look at the fifth (throat), sixth (third-eye), and seventh (crown) chakras. What is the most important information for us to understand at this time about the throat chakra?
Our three-dimensional, physical world follows the laws of science. Yet the Akashic Records say how we experience the world we live in reflects what we believe. One of the ways we communicate our beliefs is through the words we speak. Your experience of your world reflects how and what you communicate.
My understanding is that the chakras on the front side of the body are how we connect in the world, and the chakras on the back side of the body are more about how we connect inwardly. What do the Akashic Records have to say about this?
The Records say that what you believe inwardly you will project outwardly and tend to live accordingly. If you deeply believe the world is a dark and forbidding place, you will feel, live, and communicate that, and that experience will be reflected back to you. If you believe the world to be a light and lovely place, that will be your experience of living because you will communicate that, and it will be reflected back to you. These beliefs and experiences are on opposite poles of the human experience, and both are true. Being human means we live anywhere between these two poles of experience.
However, that’s not to say we should ignore and fail to act on the many external factors in life that can lead to poverty, oppression, and illness. Layers of social inequities and injustices are coming to the forefront, with a chance to be attended to in ways that they haven’t been in the past.
What blocks our throat chakra and what is the best way to clear the blocks?
A lot of self-repression happens when we don’t listen to ourselves. As young children we learned how to fit into our family system. As we went to school and then later stepped into the work world, we learned different things about how to fit into those systems. Being successful in so many systems sometimes meant hiding parts of ourselves. When those hidden parts of our selves begin to reemerge, it can feel uncomfortable because they’ve been tucked away so well. Listening to your truth takes commitment. The more you are committed to listening to yourself, the more blocks you can clear from the throat chakra.

How does one wake up, open, and activate the third-eye chakra?
The Akashic Records offer this simple, powerful statement: Pay attention. Pay attention to what’s around you. Pay attention to the subtleties of what’s happening around you. Pay attention to the natural world. Pay attention to the synchronicities and coincidences that come into your life. We are just as much energetic beings as physical beings. As energetic beings, we are always sending and receiving energy. It’s by paying attention to what’s around us that Life communicates with us. Yet the trick is not straining and working hard to pay attention. You just have to go about your life and remain open to the possibility that Life is always directly communicating with you.
The pineal gland, which is deep in the center of the brain, was once called the third eye. What is there to know about the pineal gland?
What the Akashic Records can share at this time is that there’s a cascade of energy that arises from this gland and envelopes us. The Records also offer this metaphor for the energetic role the pineal gland plays: Like how oil in a car engine keeps all the parts lubricated and working well, the pineal serves a similar function. The flow of cascading energy from the pineal gland works in the background to keep your energetic system flowing.
I have read about how the pineal gland can be calcified. And I’m wondering what the Akashic Records have to say about calcification of the pineal gland and its effect on the third eye.
Rigidly held beliefs block flow. Living inside a rigid belief system is like moving through chalk. Think about if you were trying to walk through chalk instead of moving through air. You could walk and move because chalk is soft enough to break with effort, but you would have to work hard to move just a little. The Akashic Records are saying that super rigid belief systems have that kind of effect on our energy system.
With a third eye that is open and fully functioning, what would that look like in someone’s life?
You would be able to see what is true for you. The whole point of your energy system is to be able to express what is true for you while maintaining enough space for others to experience what is true for them. Collectively, almost everyone right now is learning how to live what’s true for them without judging others as bad or wrong. We’re in the middle of this right now, and it’s going to take a couple of decades to work this out and understand what this means on deeper level personally and in society as a whole.
The seventh (crown) chakra is on the top on the head
What it the most important thing to know and understand currently about the crown chakra?
Exploring spiritual meaning is important. Unfortunately, some have overemphasized the spiritual world to the point where they have lost their grounding. There can be such an emphasis on what a spiritual life is supposed to look like that the truly magical and wonderful parts of being human get lost. It’s magical to have a body and to express feelings through tears and laughter. The Akashic Records say that yes, the spiritual is important to the human, but the human is just as important to the spiritual.
What is the best way to revive, open, clean, clear the crown chakra?
There are several ways that spiritual connection can happen. One of the things you can do is to spend time outside in nature. You can lie on the grass or sit with your back against a tree as you watch your children play in the park, go on a hike, or be in or on the water. As you are out in nature, you can experience so many different expressions of Spirit—because all of nature is an expression of Spirit.
